Guidelines: The Naomi Handelman Prizes in Student Writing PDF Print E-mail

The Handelman Prize in Student Writing

Any student registered in the Department may enter a paper in one or both following categories:

  1. A paper written for a Proseminar course and not previously submitted to this competition.
  2. A paper written expressly for the competition, which discusses any subject related to culture or education in Israel.

Criteria:  all papers will be judged according to the same criteria. Prizes will be awarded to the most impressive paper, regardless of category. A student may enter in each category, but may receive only one prize. Preference will be given to a student whose native language is not English.

Submission: Papers must be typed. The student name should not appear on any of the pages of the paper. Each paper should be accompanied by an entry form, available from the Proseminar faculty or from the main office. The maximum length of the paper is 3000 words (papers are usually shorter).
