 Application Deadlines:  

There are two application deadlines, each of which has its own timeline for completing an application and sending acceptances.

Deadline #1: Completed applications due by 28 February 2013, decisions will be sent out by 14 March 2013. 

Deadline #2: Completed applications due by 30 May 2013, decisions will be sent out by 10 June 2013.

 

Accepted students have one month to confirm their participation to the program by paying the $1,000 confirmation fees.

 

 Required documents:  

     You need to submitt the following documents for your application to be reviewed

    • Two academic letters of recommendation (on line format available)
    • Your original academic transcripts, including a list of courses taken and·all grades received.
    • Health declaration for medical insurance
    • A passport size digital picture
    • A short essay: one page in length which includes the following or anything else you feel is relevant: Your interest and purpose in pursuing the MA in Jewish studies; how the programs fits into your overall professional growth; and how you will contribute to the program and class dynamics.
    • USD 100 application fee, payable by credit card or bank transfer.

       Prerequisites:  

      • BA Degree (minimum grade:  80 [GPA 3]) (80% of the credits should be from an accredited college or university);  
      • Previous academic studies in Jewish culture, including basic training in Hebrew: an advantage.  
      • Toefl exam, if the applicant comes from a non English speaking country: Minimum TOEFL requirements: 573 on the paper based test; 230 on the computer based test; and 89 on the internet based test. The University's Code is 7704.

       

      Scholarships

       

      • Program's scholarships  

        The program has two merit-based scholarships for USD $ 5,000 each.

        The academic committee will review the scholarship applications only of the confirmed students ( who paid the $1,000 confirmation fees).

        The first scholarship will be granted by April 22nd 2013. 

        The second scholarship will be granted by July 18th 2013.

        To apply, the candidate needs to send to the prorgram coordinator by email an essay written during his/her BA and a CV.

         

        • External scholarships

        There are several opportunities in finding external scholarships. Allow yourself at least 6-9 months in advance of the academic year's commencement to begin your search, if not more, as many applications are competitive and/or require extra processing time.
