Religions and faiths were and still are powerful forces that shape our cultural, political and social worlds. Tel Aviv's University Graduate Program in Religious Studies provides a unique opportunity to learn about diverse religious traditions, Western and Eastern, old and new. The students comparatively examine monotheistic and polytheistic faiths as well as diverse rituals, concepts of the divine and ways of attaining redemption. They take part in exciting voyages with some of Israel's finest scholars and lecturers, and obtain theoretical and methodological tools to independently further pursue the study of religions. Along with introductory courses on philosophy and sociology of religion, and on world religions, students are required to take courses on Judaism, Christianity, Islam and a non-monotheistic religion (at least one on each), as well as take part, at least once, in the departmental annual seminar that examines topical issues.

As part of the program, the students participate, free of charge, in four field trips across Israel and meet with religious communities and leaders.
