The Lester and Sally Entin Faculty of Humanities Distinction Post-Doc Scholarship at the Unit of Culture Research, the School of Cultural Studies
Dr. Angeles Cohen is the recipient of the Dean’s Distinction Post-Doctoral Fellowships, at the Unit of Culture Research, The School of Cultural Studies, for 2018-2019. Dr. Cohen, PhD in Cultural Psychology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel (jointly), works on identity constructions and cultural transmission in the context of immigration and ethnic minorities, with accent on the Spanish Moroccan Jewish communities in Israel and Argentina.
Dr. Cohen will work with Prof. Rakefet Sela-Sheffy on her project, A home in an unfamiliar place: A transgenerational ethnographic study of transmission and immigration – The case of Spanish-Moroccan Jews in Israel. She will participate in the activities of the Laboratories at the Unit of Culture Research, and the School of Cultural Studies graduate students' seminar.
Dr. Cohen will coordinate The Laboratory for Cultural Mediation of Experience at the Unit of Culture Research, in the framework of which she will conduct a research seminar. The seminar is open to students at the Unit of Culture Research and all the graduate students at the School of Cultural Studies and at the TAU Faculty of Humanities.

ד"ר אנחלס (אנג'י) כהן היא זוכת מלגת ההצטיינות לפוסט-דוקטורט של ביה"ס למדעי התרבות, הפקולטה למדעי הרוח לשנת 2018--2019. ד"ר כהן, דוקטורט בפסיכולוגיה תרבותית מהאוניברסיטה האוטונומית של מדריד והאוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים (בתוכנית משותפת), עוסקת בשאלות של הבנייה ושימור זהות, והעברה תרבותית בין-דורית, בהקשרי הגירה וקבוצות אתניות, בהתמקדות בקהילת היהודים יוצאי מרוקו דוברי ספרדית בישראל ובארגנטינה.
ד"ר כהן תעבוד בהנחית פרופ' רקפת סלע-שפי ביחידה למחקר התרבות, על מחקרה: בית במקום מוכר: מחקר אתנוגרפי על העברה תרבותית בין-דורית והגירה (המקרה של יהודים ממוצא מרוקאי-ספרדי בישראל), ותשתתף בפעילות השוטפת של המעבדות ביחידה (פרטים באתר) ובסמינר המחלקתי של ביה"ס למדעי התרבות.
במהלך השנה ד"ר כהן תרכז את המעבדה להעברה ולתיווך של החוויה התרבותית, שבמסגרתה תלמד סמינר מחקר. הסמינר יהיה פתוח לתלמידים ביחידה למחקר התרבות ולתלמידים מתקדמים בכל יחידות ביה"ס למדעי התרבות.
