תחומי מחקר:

הקשרים התרבותיים שבין היהדות לאסלאם בימי הביניים, תוך התמקדות בחקר הקראים. השפעות מוסלמיות על תנועה זו בתחום התיאולוגי, והשפעת כיתות מימי בית שני על ההלכה הקראית הקדומה.

 

רקע אקדמי:

פרופסור בחוג להיסטוריה של עם ישראל באוניברסיטת תל אביב. עבודת המאסטר של פרופ' ארדר  עסקה בחדירת ספרות חנוך לאסלאם לאור ידיעות על כת הצבאים בקוראן ובמקורות מוסלמיים, בהדרכת פרופ' משה גיל ז"ל. עבודת הדוקטורט של פרופ' ארדר עסקה במצוות זבח פסח בהלכה הקראית הקדומה והוא עוסק מאז בחקר התנועה הקראית בתקופת הגאונים.
