Exhibitions - The Israeli LGBTQ Pride Archive

At the Israeli LGBTQ+ Archive, documenting trans history is not only a moral mission — it’s a political act of repair. We don’t just preserve memories; we build futures.

Through the collection, preservation, and sharing of personal, community, and public materials, we work to ensure that the past is neither forgotten nor erased — and that the future is built on recognition, inclusion, justice, and visibility.

TRANS AGE Exhibition

(Sheila Weinberg, from the exhibition)

A pop-up exhibition created by the Israeli LGBTQ+ Archive, the Gila Project for Trans Empowerment, and The Autographers. Available for Pride Month events at workplaces and educational institutions.

This exhibition explores trans identity and aging. It features 10 portrait photographs of trans individuals alongside excerpts from interviews conducted by archive volunteers.

It centers trans voices, stories, images, and experiences — because without them, there is no true LGBTQ+ history and no complete culture.

> “The trans community has a past. It is documented in countless newspaper articles, in the Hebrew language, and in the expressive faces of the community’s elders.

As human beings, we all seem to walk the same life path: birth, childhood, adolescence, professional development, family, aging, and death. And while we are all born at some point in time and death awaits us all, in practice, our life journeys almost always diverge from the expected path.

Most of us add stops along the way, and some of us skip — by choice or necessity — conventional milestones. For some, childhood ends in a flash, and the pains of adolescence can stretch on for years. Many will change professions multiple times throughout life, and others will experience several different family structures.
